Amy Morik is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both New York and New Jersey.
Amy graduated Cum Laude from Union College with a BS in Psychology. She then earned her Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) as well as her Masters degree in Public Management from New York University.
Amy is a seasoned mental health clinician who has dedicated her career to working with preschoolers, elementary age children, pre-teens and adolescents, predominantly in school settings. She is currently in her 5th year as a School Social Worker in the district of Teaneck, NJ.
Prior to joining Teaneck Public Schools, Amy spent 9 years as a member of a predominant NYC clinic working with preschool and elementary age children in a sensory gym milieu. Additionally Amy has provided school based counseling in multiple private and public schools in both NY and NJ as well as intensive counseling and treatment in a Residential Treatment Facility.
Fun Fact: Amy worked as a Camp Social Worker (best job!!) for two summers where she developed and implemented the mental health component of a day camp in Scotch Plains, NJ.
Amy offers a combination of play therapy and cognitive mindfulness techniques to children and adolescents with a variety of social, emotional and behavioral challenges. Amy is skilled in providing individual counseling, social skills group counseling, and parent support counseling.
Amy is a native of Bergen County, growing up in River Edge and currently residing in Bergenfield with her husband and three children; a 23 year old daughter, a 20 year old son, and a 17 year old son.
